Isla Coronado in Loreto is one of the highlights of our trip on the Sea of Cortez. It’s a volcanic lsland that also hosts a Sea Lion hang out….it’s NOT a rookery with females and babies…but a sub-adult and older male “colony” that is just a bunch of men, hanging out on a nice perch….The rock formations on Isla Coronado are other worldly and stick out into the Sea….
Blue Footed bobies and Brown boobies are abundunt here as well as cormorants….You don’t have to go to Galapagos to See them. We almost always see these species along with Brown Pelicans at the Sea Lion “colony”.
