How to Pay for Your Baja Ecotours Trip from Outside the United States

Guests who live outside the United States often ask how to pay for a San Ignacio Lagoon trip without a U.S. bank account. You do not need one. We take bookings through WeTravel, which offers multi-currency checkout, so you can choose from the currencies and payment methods it supports when you pay.

These steps apply to every departure. Our Baja whale watching guide covers the trips themselves.

How payment works

Each trip has its own booking link, which you reach from the trip page, the trip calendar, or our office. The link opens a WeTravel checkout for your departure.

At checkout, international guests can select from the supported currencies and payment methods shown. The options you see, and any processing fee, depend on the currency and payment method you pick, and checkout shows both before you pay.

We accept checks from U.S. banks, ACH payments, credit cards, and wire transfers. An additional processing fee applies to credit-card payments.

What the total includes

Our trip fees are published per person in U.S. dollars on the 2027 trip calendar.

The total on your booking page is the trip fee plus the governmental, airport, CBX, or biosphere fees that apply to your trip. On a 5-Day Private Air trip, for example, the $4,999 trip fee, the $220 airport and CBX fee, and the $100 Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve fee appear together in WeTravel as $5,319.

The biosphere fee is listed separately from the trip fee and included in the total you pay through WeTravel, so nothing is collected for it at Campo Cortez.

Prices can change for later bookings when fuel costs or national park fees rise, but once you book, your price is guaranteed. You will not be charged more if the published price increases afterward.

When each payment is due

A booking is made in two payments: a deposit to reserve your space, and the balance. The deposit is paid when you complete your booking.

Trip Deposit
5-Day Private Air $750 per person
7-Day and 8-Day Big Whale $1,000 per person
Great Migrations of Mexico $1,000 per person
Self-Arrival, scheduled dates $750 per person
Self-Arrival, flexible dates $200 per day

Final payment is due 90 days before your departure date. If you pay in a currency other than U.S. dollars, check the amount and currency for each payment, since the deposit and the balance are paid at different times.

Our deposit and cancellation terms are set out in the Booking section of our FAQs, and they are worth reading before you pay the deposit.

Before you send a payment

Before you pay, check these points:

  • Use the booking link from our website, the trip calendar, or our office, rather than a link someone else has forwarded to you.
  • Confirm the currency and the total shown at checkout.
  • Look at any processing fee shown for the payment method you selected.
  • Ask your own bank or card issuer whether it adds a foreign transaction charge, since that is separate from anything shown at checkout.
  • Keep the confirmation, so the payment is easy to match to your reservation if you have a question later.

If the option you need is not shown

If the currency or payment method you hoped to use does not appear at checkout, contact us before sending money another way. We will tell you which option works for your booking.

No. WeTravel’s multi-currency checkout lets international guests choose from the currencies and payment methods it supports.

Can I pay with a credit card issued outside the United States?

Credit cards are among the payment methods we accept, and a processing fee applies to credit-card payments. Whether a particular card and currency are available is shown at checkout.

Are prices quoted in U.S. dollars?

Yes. The trip calendar lists trip fees and additional fees in U.S. dollars, per person.

Do I pay the biosphere reserve fee at the lagoon?

No. It is part of the total you pay before your trip, so nothing is collected for it at Campo Cortez.

Can the price go up after I book?
