2006 Camp Update

It’s amazing about whales because the babies are so humongous compared to us!
Emmet (age 5)

The number of whales in the lagoon has reached a new peak as a March 2nd census shows almost 300 whales! We have had many days where we feel surrounded! We have had as many as four calves with their mothers surrounding our boat at one time. We also have been observing the adult whales, in the shallows of the lagoon, lounging on their sides and stirring up mud.

Emmet had loads of fun tromping around in the tidal mud flats.  He found a shovel-nosed guitarfish as well as loads of octopi that he wanted to share with everyone. Guests Be and Charlie celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with plenty of their friends and Lee’s 80th birthday party was completed with a performance art piece and a show by a local musical duo.
